I received my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana Tech University and my master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Appalachian State University. 

A Louisiana native, I have been living in Tennessee since 2012. I am happily married to Ben, and we have two children, Lincoln and Fiona. I have worked as a speech therapist in the school system, private practice, and home-based settings. In April 2021, we moved to Lebanon, TN. I love participating in this thriving community by supporting my young clients and their families .

I am passionate about helping children grow their speech and language skills through the power of speech therapy, and I strongly believe in empowering parents to facilitate this growth. I’m truly inspired by my client’s accomplishments and motivated to provide them with the best possible care!

Rachel Knox, M.A., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Originally from Michigan, Rachel has been a Nashville resident since 2021. She received her undergraduate degree from Calvin University and her graduate degree from University of Central Florida. Along with Backus Therapy Services, Rachel also works within the Wilson County school district through Project Play Therapy.

Rachel is a dedicated speech-language pathologist with experience treating a variety of communication difficulties in the clinical and school settings. She is especially trained on literacy instruction, serving as a reading instructor at Preston Taylor ministries in Nashville, TN since 2015.

Neely Roberts, SLPA

Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Neely is a Speech-Language Therapy Assistant with 12 years experience in the public school system, and two years experience at Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center. She received her undergraduate degree in Speech Communication from Lipscomb, and has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Belmont. She has experience with children and adults in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Articulation, Language Impairments, and Intellectual Disabilities.

Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, Neely now serves clients in the Sumner County area, and came to Backus Therapy Services as part of the company merge with Spotlight Therapy Services.
